Parkwood Estates Wedding

So I have to start off by admitting how much of a slacker I am… I have lived in Oshawa for YEARS, and had only ever been to Parkwood Estates once in my life when I was tiny little goat and couldn’t even remember it. Now as an adult, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing Samantha and Martin’s wedding ceremony on the grounds and guys… HOLY CRAP. This castle is what dreams are made of and now I want to live there.

I immediately knew these were my people when during our initial meeting they had told me that they had chosen the ceremony location for the simple fact that it is the “Billy Maddison House” and the reception venue for the foooood. Like, is there anything else that could win me over more than movies and grub?! No, no there is not.

When I arrived to the Tea Room for the big day, the event staff at Parkwood had beautifully set up the bridal suite with all of Sam’s details. Her stunning vintage dress hung on a hook beside the window frame, her handpicked bouquets of blush peonies and baby’s breath nestled perfectly into her veil. Instant photo boner! I had snuck in just before Sam had arrived. When she walked in, she was in AWE. All of her ladies including her tiniest lady, her niece Sophia, gathered in the room to take it all in. With their hair and makeup just about done, the girls were ready to put on their final touches. Before we knew it, it was time for Sam to get in her dress. Cue the tears. Tiny Sophia’s face just lit up when she saw her Auntie as the most beautiful bride. They shared a moment and Sam surprised Sophia with a special gift for her being a part of their big day.

Martin and the boys posted up at his best man’s family home with the most badass pool table I’ve ever seen. When I am rich, a custom pool table is legit happening. Hanging out and enjoying some drinks, the boys were so relaxed and Martin was the world’s chillest groom (even despite the 30 minute bowtie tying lesson, YouTube for the win!). Martin gave his boys an extra special treatment when he had his barber stop in to spiff these boys up. Off to the Billy Maddison house in a white limo with a red carpet, can you say riding in style?!

Cut to the ceremony. With the rain staying in the clouds, Samantha and her brother Mike walk down the aisle. The relationship these two shared was so heartwarming. From him giving her away, to sharing a brother/sister dance at their reception, this one got me hard in the feels. That, along with his son Liam, shedding tears left right and centre during the dreamy ceremony.

I have to give it up to Forever Sound Dj Services for pumping up these party people like no other! They had games and definitely brought the beats. They every single guest up on their feet and totally gave us sore cheeks from smiling so hard. Then came the “Magic Mike” garter toss. Sam even admitted that she never expected this performance from Marty, but let me just say DAMN. Best. Moment. Ever. I don’t know if this man practiced, but he was a natural and the crowd went wild.

These amazing souls partied like rockstars all night and treated us just like every other guest at their wedding, with SO much love. Congratulations Samantha & Marty, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your badass day!
